Siskiyou Music Project concludes its Spring/Summer concert series with an evening of music composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim by Quartet Bossa Nova featuring Brianne Mack on vocals and flute, Dave Stone on tenor and soprano saxophones, Theresa McCoy on percussion and Ed Dunsavage on guitars.
This performance will be a celebration of the phenomenal artistry of ANTONIO CARLOS JOBIM — the prolific Brazilian composer/musician who introduced bossa nova to the world in the early ’60s with “The Girl from Ipanema.” One of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century, Jobim’s bossa nova style influenced and inspired his contemporaries as well as musicians today.
Quartet Bossa Nova will perform renditions of time-honored tunes from the Jobim songbook such as “Desafinado,” “Corcovado,” “Dindi,”and “Chega de Suadade,” many of which have been recorded by the international royalty of popular music.
